Sally Short

Athalene “Sally” Short, 75, of Cardinal Lane, died Sunday January 25, 2015 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday January 29, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 at Davidson Funeral Home. Mrs. Short was born November 20, 1939 in Mingo County West Virginia to Aulbert Warren Short and Rosa Brewer Short. She was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church in High Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elverson “Earn” Short, her half-brother, Earl Brewer and half-sister, Mabel Cooley. Surviving are her son, Kenny Short and wife, Cathy, of Archdale; her daughter, Kaye Vance and husband, Tommy, of Lexington; her brothers, Ronald Short and fiancé, Lori, of Winston Salem and Arland Short of Lexington; her sister, Violet Stone and husband, Stanley, of Lexington; one half- sister, Mary Stewart of Virginia; her grandchildren, Joshua Short, and Jeffery Short and wife, Amber; and her great-grandchild, Alex Short.
