Sam Alvin Thompson

Sam Alvin Thompson, age 64 of US Hwy 64 East, Lexington died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Wake Forest U. Baptist Medical Center.    A Private service was held.   Mr. Thompson was born May 29, 1945 in Avery County to Arthur Reginal Thompson and Varnell Houston Thompson.  A retired Owner/Operator of Leisure Enterprises, he was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.  He was a US Air Force Veteran. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Lee Edward Thompson.   Surviving are a son, Anthony Russell Thompson of Lexington; a daughter, Christina Lynne Pitman of Bakersville, NC; four grandchildren, Emily Elsie Graham, Jessie James Graham, Julia Jaine Graham, Jonathan Wayne Pitman; a great grandchild, Madeline Truly Moore; brothers, Ralph Arthur Thompson of Martinsburg, WV, Ted Austin Thompson of Dalton, GA, sisters, Daisy Lou Hensley of Marion, NC, Nora Ann Wilson of Dillsboro, NC.  Also surviving are close friends, Christopher Spann, Kenneth Burleson and Montana Boys, Kenny and Warren.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
