In this obituary, parents mourn the loss of their daughter who passed away much too young at the age of 22. They ask readers to not only remember her beautiful spirit, but to remember to live life to the fullest because it is much too short.
A beloved daughter, sister, and friend, loved by all with her outgoing personality happy go luck charm. Sammy left this world unexpectedly and way too early in life, at 22, on June 1, 2021. Born in Lexington, NC on December 15, 1998, to James and Sharon (Wright) Day. Sammy grew up in Lexington, she was involved in everything from sports to helping local charities, her church and especially the Knight of Columbus. She was a Girl Scout who had achieved her Gold Award and was a proud member of Our Lady of The Rosary Holy Catholic Church. She graduated with honors at Central Davidson High School where she also lettered in Tennis and played softball. One of her greatest accomplishments was graduating in the Honors Program at Belmont Abbey College where she graduated Cum Laude and stayed on the Dean’s List. She found her place in life at the ABBEY.
She was funny, outgoing, and vivacious, but she was also introverted and introspective. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and family. We will always remember her infectious smile, piercing blue eyes and caring personality. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed.
When you think of Sammy, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
Sammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Jean Day;and Gene and Elsie Wright. She leaves behind her parents; sister, JoDee the best friend a sister would ever have. And her college friends that were more like family than anything.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10 am, Saturday, June 26 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Lexington NC.
Rest in eternal peace my sweet Samantha Jean.
May Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
AMEN
