Samuel Floyd Owens, 75, of Davidson County, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the VA in Salisbury.
Military Honors will be performed at Salisbury National Cemetery at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The family extends a welcome for anyone who would like to attend.
Floyd was born on May 11. 1948, in Davidson County, to the late James Samuel Owens and Frances Gabard Owens. After high school, he served his country in the Army and later went on to be a truck driver for over 30 years.
Floyd loved animals, especially his fur babies. He was known to love working in the yard, planting flowers, and building things; he always had a project going. Floyd also loved the mountains and would take several trips a year with his wife to enjoy them.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie, and sister, Sue.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Leona Huggins Owens of the home; daughters, Beverly Owens (Daniel) of High Point, Sheryl Weaver of Southmont, and Hayley Tally (Brian) of the home; brothers, Robert, Keith, and Bobby; sisters, Leona, Margaret, and Wanda; grandchildren, Ariana, and Jordan; three great-grandchildren; and five fur-babies, Munchkin, Sparky, Xena, Anakin, and Lucky.
