Sandra Blackwelder

Mrs. Sandra Cox Blackwelder, 85, of Chestnut St, died Tuesday, April 15 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 19 at First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell III.  A private burial will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter following the service.

Sandra was born December 25, 1939 in Rowan County to James Louis Cox and Grace Myers Cox.  She retired as a legal secretary and was a member of First Baptist Church.  Her husband, Joe Reid Blackwelder and her son, Michael Lee Blackwelder, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Huneycutt (David) of Lexington; her brother, Jim Cox (Harvie Ann) of Moultrie, GA; her sister, Jan Huffman (Tommy) of Boonville; her granddaughters, Lauren and Rachel Huneycutt; her nieces Courtney Harden (Sam) and Meredith Kinder (Mike); and her nephew, Garrett Blackwelder (Corrie).
