Sandra Stuka Nunn, age 75, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sandra's legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Shiloh Church Columbarium, with Pastor Jake Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
Sandra was born on December 26, 1947, in Amherst, TX, to Junior Thomas Lambert and Lorene Scheller Stuka. Later in her childhood, she was embraced by the love of her stepfather, Walter George Stuka who adopted her, but maintained a close relationship with her father, Junior. Sandra's upbringing laid the foundation for a life marked by compassion, determination, and a deep sense of family. A retired computer programmer and coder, Sandra dedicated much of her professional life to Cone Mills in Greensboro, where her skills and expertise left an indelible mark. Sandra's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her commitment to her spiritual community extended beyond attendance, as she took an active role in teaching Sunday School, sharing her wisdom, and nurturing the faith of others. Even in the face of a challenging diagnosis of cancer, Sandra's faith remained unshaken, serving as an inspiration to those around her.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Ray Nunn (Tracy); her grandchildren, Ryan Nunn (Anna Dyson), and Olivia Nunn; her brothers, Joe Bob Stuka (Maureen), and Wally Stuka (Lorna); her sisters, Deniese Gomez (Ruben), Pamela Taylor (Monte), Tamara Stinson (Karl), and Lori Lafferty (Chris); and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, reflecting Sandra's spirit of compassion and care.
Sandra Stuka Nunn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her kindness, and the love she poured into the lives of those around her. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be serving the Nunn family.
