Sandra ran into the arms of her Savior on January 9, 2026.

Sandra was born on January 19, 1945, in Davidson County to Joe Thurman Yarbrough and Bertha Wilson Yarbrough Myers. She lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Sandra's life was a testament to her devotion to her loved ones and her deep connection to her faith. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and always extended a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and warmth touched the lives of everyone she encountered, leaving an unforgettable mark on her family and friends. Her family was the center of her world.

Sandra's memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family; her son, Michael Shane Yarbrough; her daughters, Michelle Yarbrough Epley, and Mary Phillips Leihenseder; her grandchildren, Ashley Y. Mahala (Gene), Lindsay Y. McLain (David), Lena K. Yarbrough, and Cathryn F. Leihenseder; her great grandchildren, Tristan M. Clodfelter, Branson A. McLain, and Vanna A. Vawter; her brother Joe “Jitter” Yarbrough; her sister, Barbara J. Hall (Bobby); and beloved pet, Bandit.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Silas Allen Phillips, brother James “Boots” Yarbrough.

Sandra had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and Savior, and her church family. Her faith guided her through life's journey, providing her with strength, comfort, and an unshakeable sense of purpose.

She found great joy in worship and fellowship, and her love for her church family was a source of great happiness.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Freewater Church, 11141 Old U S Hwy 52, Winston-Salem, NC, officiated by Pastor Stan Tuttle and Tommy Fincher. 

The family will receive family and friends from 5-7pm Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington, and other times at Michelle’s home, 1230 Fritts Road, Lexington, NC 27295.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
