Sandra Virginia Sexton

September 16, 1940 — September 12, 2024

Peggy Sexton, 83 of Lexington, made heaven her permanent home on September 12,2024 gathered round by all of her special girls at Hinkle Hospice House.

Peggy was born September 16,1940 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She attended E.C Glass High School where she graduated before working as an LPN at Lynchburg General Hospital. She met her husband, Don, and then moved to Lexington, NC where she then started working for Lexington Furniture Industries and retired from Young and Hinkle. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Minnie Pearl Wright Puckett, her husband Don Ray Sexton and her son, Stuart Judson Sexton.

Peggy enjoyed going to church before she became unable to and she loved playing and singing music for the lord. She had a Jerry Lee Lewis style when it came to playing the piano and an angelic voice when she would sing. Throughout her lifetime, she was blessed to play and sing music with so many different friends. Peggy and her granddaughter Brandy, use to go and have so much fun together with her musician friends, making music for the Lexington Senior Center and called themselves the "Music Makers."

Peggy was the Matriarch of her little family and she instilled so much love in them; but better than her own love, she instilled the love of Jesus in all their hearts as well. Left to cherish her amazing legacy is her daughter, Sharon Smith, two grandchildren, Brandy Hollman (Tad) and Hannah Cockerham, five great-grandchildren; Gracie, Chloe, Skyler, Elias and Isabella. Also surviving is her sister Linda Grubbs (Wayland) from Virginia, and a brother Ron Hutton (Sheila) from the UK. She is also cherished by two very special close friends, Cheryl Laxton and Christine Pompey; and one life long Bestfriend, Alice Casey from Virginia.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, September 15th from 6:00-8:00pm at Davidson Funeral Home for a public viewing.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16th 2024 at 2:00pm at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Leon Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Peggy's entire nursing team at Baptist Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit for going above and beyond for the nine days they cared for her.
