Sandra Houser Surratt

Sandra Houser Surratt, 63, of East Old Highway 64, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Thomasville Medical Center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Merrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home. Mrs. Surratt was born November 9, 1950, in Davidson County, to Eugene Houser and Gladys Dorsett Houser. She was retired from Lexington Telephone Company after 34 years of service and attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. She was also a member of the Pioneer Club. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Greyeling Early Surratt who died in 1992. Surviving are son, Jason Early Surratt of the home; daughter, Lisa Rabon and husband Tracy of the home; her mother of Lexington; brothers, Donald Steven Houser and wife Sue Ann of Thomasville and David Wayne Houser and wife, Kristi of Lexington; sister, Cathy Houser Meachum and husband Robbie of Lexington; special canine companion, Dixie; several nieces and nephews; she was also expecting twin grandchildren to be born next year. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Carolina Cancer Services, 25 W. 6th Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292.
