Sanford Love

Sanford Louis Love Sr., 76, of Clyde Fitzgerald Road, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Open Door Baptist Church by Dr. Gary Gibson and the Rev. Robert Garrett. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. Mr. Love was born in Davidson County on June 6, 1931, to Lester Green Love and Carrie Mae Holshouser Love. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retired from Clark Construction and was a member of Beck's Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Betty S. Love, in 1999. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Love and her husband, John Morgan, of Supply; a son, Sanford Louis "Sandy" Love Jr. of Ayden; seven grandchildren, Tonya Wright, Alisha Love, Jennifer Lynn Belton, Stewart (T.J.) Belton Jr., Anthony Love, Kayla Love and Patrick Love; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Graham and her husband, Jerry, of Mocksville and Nancy Everhart and her husband, Jerry, of Welcome; and a brother, Druid G. Love and his wife, Mildred, of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home on Clyde Fitzgerald Road, Linwood.
