Sarah Gobble Berrier, 97, of Port St. John, Fla., and previously of Lexington, passed away after a short illness on Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Health Center of Merritt Island in Merritt Island, Fla.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel by the Rev. Keith White. Burial will follow at Enterprise Moravian Church.
Mrs. Berrier moved to Port St. John, Fla., to live with her daughter after the death of her husband in 2002. Her parents, Eva and Noah Gobble; her husband of 74 years, Irvan M. Berrier; a son, Dalton M. Berrier and his wife, Mildred; a son-in-law, Ralph W. Garvin; her brothers, Lester, Odell and James Gobble; and her sisters, Margaret Hemphill and Christine Fults preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Garvin of Port St. John, Fla.; her grandchildren, Sherri Johnson and her husband, Charles, of Indian land, S.C., Michelle White and her husband, Charlie, of Merritt Island, Fla., and Ray Berrier and his wife, Peggy, of Lexington; her great-grandchildren, Steven and Sean Thompson of Charlotte and Daniel Berrier of Lexington; and her great-great-grandson, Gavin Thompson of Charlotte.
There will be no visitation.
