Sarah Wood Livengood

Sarah Melinda Wood Livengood 77 of Brier Patch Lane, Lexington died Sunday July 5, 2009 at Hinkle Hospice Home after a 2year battle with cancer. A funeral service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Kevin Hobson. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Livengood was born July 27, 1931 in Davie County to William Henry Wood and Dossie Osborne Wood. She was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family especially on Sunday. She also loved being outdoors growing her many beautiful flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon Ray Livengood, a son, Bobby Wood and a grandson, Corey Ratledge. Surviving are two sons: Johnny Livengood and wife Jeanette and Dale Livengood and wife Susan all of Mocksville. Five Daughters: Carol Ratledge and husband Jerry of Mocksville, Diana Baker, Raynell Cagle and husband Billy, Debbie Ledbetter and husband Jackie and Kelly Ledbetter and husband Gary all of Lexington. One grandson, Randall Livengood of the home, 21 additional Grandchildren and 35 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Foster of Mocksville. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter Raynell Cagle 1364 Hannersville Road, Lexington.
