Sarah Margaret Davis passed away on January 1, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was 82.
Margaret was born into a large family on June 24, 1943, in Lexington, North Carolina, to James Leroy and Myrtle Lee Sparks Honeycutt. She was the last born of 13 children. Margaret graduated from Lexington Senior High School in 1961 and began her first job with Nolan Studios in High Point. There, Margaret met the love of her life, Robert Whitney Davis. He and Margaret dated once and soon after were married. Margaret and Robert began their lives together in High Point where, over the years, they raised 4 children. Margaret held several different jobs throughout her career working in accounting and finance. She also worked as a substitute teacher in Guilford County for several years and later volunteered with Hospice of Davidson County, offering comfort and support to others in many ways. However, her most cherished role was that of a homemaker. She was the heart of her home and worked hard to create a warm and welcoming home for her family. Margaret treasured her family and was a devoted mother to her four children teaching them the value of hard work.
Margaret’s spiritual life started at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point where she was a member for many years and was later nurtured at Becks Lutheran Church in Lexington where she was a member for over 10 years.
Along with her parents, Margaret was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Robert Whitney Davis, brothers, Johnny, Bruce, Jimmy Billy, Luther, Troy and Roy Honeycutt and sisters, Lucile Honeycutt, Shirley Honeycutt, Mary Honeycutt, Joyce Seacrest and Joann Jones.
Left to cherish the memory and life of Margaret are her sons Robert “Bobby” Davis, Lee Davis, Andrew Davis and wife Jana along with daughter Morgan Burris and husband Marty, grandchildren, Taylor Davis and wife Jessica, Jacob Davis, Nicole Davis, Chandler Davis, Alan Davis, MacKenzie Burris and Aubrey Burris and great granddaughter, Lakelynn Davis.
A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at Becks Lutheran Church in Lexington, North Carolina followed by a visitation for family and friends in the Friendship Hall at Becks Lutheran Church. She will be placed in the columbarium with her husband at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point North Carolina at a later date.
