Sarah Jane Thomason Moody

Sarah Jane Thomason Moody, 87, of Sunnyside Drive, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Hinkle Hospice House.  The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bud Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12.  Mrs. Moody was born August 30, 1929, in Davidson County, to Willie Lindsay Thomason and Ethel Sabrina Purdy Thomason. She was a homemaker and a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parent she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Moody; son, Bobby Darrell Moody; brothers, George Thomason and Alex Thomason; sisters, Mildred Bowen and Betty Hilton; and her step-mother, Margaret Trent Thomason.  Surviving are son, Ricky Dale Moody of Lexington; daughter, Cathy Everhart of Lexington; three grandchildren, Michelle Martin, Christy Smith (Jason) and Tammy Haga (Chris); 10 great-grandchildren, Abbie, Kelcie, Jacob, Gavin, Lucas, Emma, Hannah, Cayla, Kristin, and Robert; and one great-great-grandson, Zane.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
