Sarah Newsome

Sarah Jo Myers Newsome, 74 of Lexington died Monday, January 10, 2011 in Forsyth Medical Center after 5 years of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Robinson and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm Thursday prior to the service. Mrs. Newsome was born May 22, 1936 in Davidson County to Weltmer Levitte Myers and Gertrude Link Myers. Sarah was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Davis Newsome in 1994, two brothers, Jack Myers, Coley Myers, two sisters, Louise Norman and Edna Crews. Surviving are two sons, Russell (Rusty) Newsome and wife, Peggy of Oak Island, NC, Ty Newsome and wife, Rebekah of Lexington, three grandchildren, Savannah Newsome, Chloe and Ty Newsome II, two sisters, Inez Graves and Ann Cude both of Lexington.
