Sarah Frances Stogner

July 19, 1939 — December 25, 2018

Sarah Frances Everhart Stogner, of Lexington, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 25th. She was born July 19, 1939 to John and Nellie Everhart of Holly Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norene Surratt, her brothers Jimmy, Steve and Bobby Everhart and her beloved daughter Debbie Stogner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Stogner, a son, Pete Stogner, daughters Susan Stogner Paschal and Diane Stogner McBride (husband Lee), grandsons Bryan Gallimore (wife Ellen), Ben Stogner, Jacob McBride, Casey McBride, granddaughters Sarah Abigail Stogner, Olivia Paschal, Morgan McBride and a great-grandson, Jackson Gallimore. In addition, she is survived by brothers Glenn and Ted Everhart and many nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Sissy. Sarah worked for 20 years with the Davidson County School system as a teacher assistant at Davis Townsend Elementary School focusing behavior students. She retired for a brief period then returned to work at Stoner Thomas School as monitor with challenged students. She was very dedicated to the students and would go above and beyond her duties to help, learning sign language in order to help one particular student. Sarah put her family above all others and was very proud adored all of her grandchildren. She was happiest when she was with them. She was an amazing cook and baker, admired especially for her Swiss chocolate cake, creamed potatoes, and famous macaroni and cheese among a few favorites.

A service to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held on Sunday December 30th, 2018. The family will receive visitors from 12:30-1:30 pm with a service following the visitation at Davidson Funeral Home on Sunday December 30th. Following the service, the burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Stoner Thomas School or Special Olympics of Davidson County.
