Saundra Kay Morris Everhart, 77, of City Lake Road in Lexington, passed away Saturday February 28, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

A memorial service will be held on Thurday March 5, 2026 at 2pm in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.

Mrs. Everhart was born May 27, 1948, in Davidson County to Vernon Smith Morris and Annie Forshee Morris. Saundra graduated from High Point College with a Master’s degree in education and then went on to be an educator for the Davidson County School system. She worked in education for 36 years and was the President of the North Carolina Educators of America. Saundra enjoyed her friends and social events. She had many interests outside of her teaching career. Shopping became a great love of hers as well as camping and traveling and she devoted lots of her time to the Boys Scouts of America. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Cleveland Everhart and her daughter Meredith Everhart.

Surviving is her son, Stan Smith Everhart (Penny) of Lexington; one brother, David Smith Morris (Jeannine) of West End; 1 grandchild, Spencer Smith Everhart (Rachel) and 1 great-grandchild, Trexler Smith Everhart.
