Kenneth Charles “Shag” Everhart, 88, of Hillcrest Circle, died Saturday, October 13 at his home after declining health.
A memorial service will be held 2pm Thursday, October 18 at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Lee Dukes. A private burial will be held at Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Everhart was born June 23, 1930 in Davidson County to Sam Eugene Everhart and Maude Bullaboy Everhart. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and played Single A baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He began his career with Boaze Motor Company and later retired from Lexington State Bank. Shag was an avid golfer and cherished his time with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Coggins Everhart, his brother, Sam Everhart, Jr., and his sisters, Betty Jo Kirk and Sue Byrd.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Timberlake and husband, Trip, of Lexington; his son, Kent Everhart of Gastonia; his grandchildren, Molly Loflin, Hill Timberlake, Trey Everhart and Samantha Everhart; and his great grandchildren, Madeline Loflin and Abigail Loflin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
