Shari Lowene Snow

Shari Lowene Snow, 44, of the Brian Center of Salisbury and formerly of Lexington, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Shari was born Jan. 22, 1962, in Provo, Utah, to Orlo L. Snow and Wanda Lee Peacock Snow. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa and of North Carolina A& T State University in Greensboro with a master's degree. She was a teacher, interim principal and behavioral specialist with the Lexington City Schools and later with the Davidson County Schools. She was very active with Davidson County Special Olympics, having coached, officiated and served on the executive board. She was a certified official with U.S. Track and Field, having officiated college track and field. Surviving are her parents of West Valley City, Utah; two sisters, Tawnia Newton and her husband, Joseph, of Hixson, Tenn., and Tamera Snow of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; two brothers, Parry Snow of Hollywood, Fla., and Gregory Snow and his wife, Marilyn, of Orem, Utah; and three nieces and five nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1067, Lexington, NC 27293.
