Sharon Bennett Brooks, 64, passed away, Saturday, July 29. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 5 at 2 p.m. at Duval Masonic Lodge, 2620 Dean Road, Jacksonville, FL, with a reception to follow. She was from Jacksonville, FL, but has lived in North Carolina to be near her grandson. She was the daughter of Ray “Piggie” and Satilla Bennett. She was retired from AT&T. She was a member of Southside #28 Order of the Easter Star, Daughters of the Nile at Morocco Temple. She was known to many as “Mom Sharon” as a longtime advisor with the International Order of Rainbow Girls of Florida. She loved the Georgia Bulldogs. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Rudlin “Rutt” Bennett. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Rick Chatterton; her beloved grandson, Trevor Chatterton; her mother; a brother, John Bennett (Debbie); a sister, Evie McCoy (Patrick); nephews, great-niece and nephews, and great-great- nephews.
