Sharon Farrell Ward

Sharon Farrell Ward, 61, of Bowers Road, died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, as a result of an automobile accident. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. J. Burton Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Ward was born April 4, 1948, in Alamance County, to the Rev. Earl T. Farrell and Katherine Sizemore Farrell. She had been winning her fight against cancer for the last nine years and enjoyed participating in the Relay for Life. She was a registration clerk at Thomasville Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father. Surviving are her son, Ben Ward and his wife, Sheri, of High Point; two grandchildren, Chloe and Olivia Ward; mother, Katherine Sizemore Farrell of High Point; brothers, Thom Farrell and his wife, Patty, of Southmont and Terry Farrell and his wife, Sydney, of Charlotte; and sister, Louise Gerber and her husband, Michael, of High Point. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her brother, Thom, 2907 Beckner Road, or her sister, Louise Gerber, 249 Old Mil Road, High Point.
