Sharon Swicegood Widener

Sharon Swicegood Widener, 65, of Denton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Wake Forest Baptist on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born April 3, 1960, in Guilford County to the late Johnny Swicegood and Clare Loflin Swicegood.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Michael Widener, and her brother, Kenny Swicegood.

She is survived by her mother Clare, her children, Daniel Baker and wife Kelsie Bates, Tammy Phillips and husband Danny, and Christina Landock; her cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Easton, Jaxon, Elijah, Kaylee, Logan, Leland, Caden and wife Cayla, and Riley; and her sisters, Wendy Carrick and husband Keith, and Deborah LaLonde and husband Scott.

Sharon’s greatest joy was her family, and she will be remembered for her love, kindness, and the special way she touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a passion for working outside and on the golf course her entire life. Being outdoors was a place of peace for her.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Carrick officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow 2:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Sharon’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will miss her deeply.
