Shelby Jean Burns Culler, 80, of Albemarle, NC formerly of Lexington, passed away April 3, 2022 at her home in Albemarle.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. With burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 10:00 to 11:00 in the church.
Mrs. Culler was born July 1, 1941, in Guilford County, to Charles Burns and Mary Charles Fowler Canada. Shelby was a devoted member of the church, the church choir, and handbells choir and the Macedonia United Methodist Women for many years. She was retired from Burlington Industries where she was a quality control specialist, she was Ms. Senior Davidson Country 2002 Queen, 2001 won first place in Raleigh finals in comedy and drama, 2001 won first place in Davidson County comedy and drama, was a member of the Southmont Lions Club, where in 2012 was selected Lion member of the year. She was an avid reader and love to go camping. Her passion was her faith, church, and family and especially her four-legged babies whom she loved very much. Shelby was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Step father, Roger Canada, brother, Ronnie Lee Burns and son-in-law, Allan Picklesimer.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Annette Richardson Picklesimer of the home; her brother, Tommy H Holmes and wife Sue of S.C.; her stepsisters, Nancy Clodfelter and husband Junior, Ann Canada both of Kernersville; her nieces, Stefany Holmes and Elizabeth Burns, and her nephew, Gregory Burns.
