Shelby Jean Lovell Lookabill, age 69, of Carawood Lane, Lexington passed away Monday morning, May 23, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, May 27, 2016, at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Welcome, where she was a member with Revs. Avery Varnadore and Gavin Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm Thursday night and at other times at the home. Shelby was born in Davidson County October 8, 1946 to Ernest Roy and Mildred Wright Lovell. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bobby Joe Lookabill. Surviving are her sons, Ernie Lookabill (Joanna) of Winston Salem, John Lookabill (Sam) and Randy Lookabill (fiancee’ Ashley) all of Lexington and Justin Lookabill of Mocksville; step-daughter, Tammy Jo Cox (Chris) of Ramseur; grandchildren, Cody, Brianna, Cadence, Haley and Kaden; step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan and Daniel; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Lorbor (Tony) of Riverside, CA. To my grandson Cody, thank you for being by my side and helping me take care of things. To my granddaughters Brianna and Cadence, thank you for brightening our visits with your smiles. The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Memorial Hospital and the Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care Unit for their care of mom.
