Mrs. Shelby Wood Sink age 74, of Lexington passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on Sunday May 20, 2012 with family by her side.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. John Beeg and Rev. Dr. Stephen Pillsbury. Burial will follow to Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
Shelby was born October 6, 1937 in Forsyth County to James Allen Wood and Nellie Cranfill Wood. She worked as an executive secretary and retired from NC Cooperative Ext. Service, having also work at R J. Reynolds. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and served as church counsel secretary along with several other duties in the church. She volunteered with Davidson Medical Ministries, worked on the Capital Campaign for Hinkle Hospice House, had served as a 4H Leader and was active in the Extension Homemaker Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bruce B. Sink of the home. Her daughter, Amanda Hipp and husband Benny of Charlotte; her brothers, James A. Wood and wife Kathy of Rocky Mount, NC; her sister, Carlene Ramsey and husband James of Pfafftown, and her granddaughter, Samantha Hipp of Charlotte.
