Sherrill Victor Smith 88 of Mallard Ridge Assisted Living passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Advent Moravian Church Graveyard with Rev. Tim Sapp officiating. S.V. was born in Forsyth County on March 26, 1927 to Shell Victor Smith and Alice Burton Smith. He served in the US Navy during WWII and worked at the US Postal Service and was a member at Advent Moravian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Hope Branon Smith and a son-in-law Allan Denny; sisters, Florence, Margaret, Ruby, Mable, and Alice. Surviving is a son Scott Branon Smith (Beverly) of Lexington; a daughter, Robin Smith Denny of Lexington; grandchildren, Amanda Denny Dellinger (Mitch), Kate Longworth Denny, Blake Branon Smith (Ashley), Mills Austin Smith (Mikki); great-grandchildren, Brooks Allan Dellinger, Beau Branon Dellinger, Hadley Marie Smith and Gentry Hope Smith.
