Sherrill D. Waisner, a lifelong resident of the Lexington and Midway area of North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Sherrill was born on January 3, 1944, to Thomas Raymond Waisner and Lula Johnson Waisner, in Thomasville. Sherrill was a proud graduate of Lexington High School in 1962, and married Nancy Hinkle in 1966 and would have celebrated 59 years of marriage together this October. Sherrill dedicated 40 years of his professional life to the field of furniture manufacturing. He enjoyed a distinguished career working with both Stanley Furniture and Link Taylor, where he was known for his craftsmanship and dedication.
Beyond his work, Sherrill was an avid outdoorsman who found joy and tranquility in nature. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, pursuits that allowed him to embrace the serenity of the outdoors and create lasting memories with his son Jimmy and his friends.
Sherrill was preceded in death by both of his parents as well as his sisters, Linda Waisner, Brenda Moore, Georgia Clodfelter and Vivian Tysinger and brother, Clyde Waisner.
Sherrill is survived by his wife, Nancy Waisner, and their son, Jimmy Waisner. His legacy of love, hard work, and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. A graveside service will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at Bethesda Church, where friends and family are invited to celebrate Sherrill's life.
