Shirley Jean Link Bivens, 72, of E.L. Myers Rd., Lexington passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2015 at Paul’s Chapel Reformed Church with Revs. Aaron Long and Richard Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Bivens was born May 17, 1943 in Davidson County to Howard Glenn Link and Lena Mae Snider Link. A member of Paul’s Chapel United Reformed Church, she was Co-Owner of Clints Auto Parts. Preceding her in death was her parents, three brothers, Howard Link, Jr., Bobby Link and Fred Link.
Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Clinton Zero Gene Bivens of the home; a daughter, Monica Rasmussen (William) of Salisbury; two step-daughters, Karen bivens Fowler (Kevin) of Huntington, WV, Donna Jean Bivens of Lexington; a sister, Esther Johnson of Lexington; special niece and nephew, Ted Hoyle (Dana) of Denton, Terri Matthews (Perry) of Thomasville, and several other nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Rochelle Varnam of Holden Beach, NC and Karen Council Staples (Lee) of Dallas, TX.
