Shirley Ferguson Carter

Shirley Ferguson Carter, age 87 of East Holly Grove road, Lexington passed away Thursday March 9, 2017 at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2017  in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Phillip Carter and Evangelist Shane Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Shirley was born in Forsyth County June 21, 1929 to James Thomas Ferguson and Dora Sparks Ferguson. She was a retired employee of Lexington Home Brands. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fonzy Lee Carter in 1997 and a son Galen Carter. Surviving are her daughter, Theresa Owens and husband Keith of Lexington; son, Rev. Phillip Carter and wife Roxann of Lexington; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Hendren of Moravian Falls.
