Shirley Ann Clodfelter

  Shirley Ann Sorrell Clodfelter, 74 of Mitchell Avenue, Lexington, died Tuesday August 11, 2009 in Hinkle Hospice House after three months serious illness.  A funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Lindquist and Dr. Jim Martin officiating.  A graveside service will be at 5:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC.   Shirley was born in Durham County on February 11, 1935 to John Preston Sorrell and Mary Teel Sorrell.  Before retirement she was a secretary for NC Trucking Association serving for over 30 years.  She graduated from Elon College and was a member of First United Methodist Church.    Surviving are husband Billy Franklin Clodfelter of the home, daughter, Gay Long and husband Keith of Raleigh and sons Jay Baker and wife Danette of Wilmington, Scott Clodfelter and wife Anne of Enka, NC and Tim Clodfelter and wife Lorraine of San Antonio, TX, 3 grandchildren, Travis Clodfelter, Nicole Clodfelter and Rebecca Joann Clodfelter, 2 grand dogs and 1 grand cat.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other time at the home on Mitchell Avenue.       Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
