Shirley Owens Comer

Shirley Jo Owens Comer, age 85 of Wafford Circle Lexington passed away Wednesday December 2, 2020 at Thomasville Medical Center.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Entombment will follow in the cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no public visitation.

Shirley was born in Davidson County April 12, 1935 to Claude Scott Owens and Viola Koontz Owens. She was a homemaker and made her home to raise their four children. She loved her children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Kay Comer Hughes and sisters, Daisy Proctor and Margaret Kanoy and a brother, Gene Owens.

Surviving are her husband, Steven Edwin Comer of the home; daughter, Sharon Comer Munday and husband Russell of Lexington; sons, Steven Edwin “Eddie” Comer, Jr. and wife Jill and David Scott Comer all of Lexington; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary and Donald Owens of High Point, Danny Owens of Lexington and Ronnie Owens of Raleigh.
