Shirley McGee Daniels, 71, of Paddington Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Sunbridge Nursing Home after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reeds Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Ackerman. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Daniels was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Forsyth County to James Monroe McGee and Minnie Louise Griffin McGee. She was the stepdaughter of Inez Moser McGee. She was a lifelong employee of Hanes Hosiery, where she retired. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, Grover Clayton Daniels of the home; one son, Daryl Daniels and his wife, Rhonda, of Daniels Tire Service of Lexington; one brother, James M. McGee Jr. of Walnut Cove; four sisters, Dian Vernon of Winston-Salem, Debra Goddard of Las Vegas Nev., Virginia Pike and Brenda McGee, both of Rural Hall; and one uncle, Kelly Griffin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
