Shirley Hager Carpenter

Shirley Jean Hager Carpenter, age 84, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston.

There will be no formal services held.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on January 11, 1935 in Catawba County to Tom B. Hager and Edna Moss Hager. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Carpenter, Sr.; a brother, Billy Ray Hager; and two sisters, Coleen Hager Sloop and Martha Hager Reece.

Surviving are her sons, Jimmy Ray Carpenter Jr. (Rhonda) of Asheville, James Robert Winfrey (Jean) of Winston Salem, William Thomas Carpenter (Savon) of Jacksonville, FL, Samuel Lee Carpenter (Mick) of Calabash and Daniel Scott Carpenter of the home; her daughters, Teresa Carpenter Henley (Ray) of Winston Salem and Delania Carpenter Tallo (Louis) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her brother, Thomas Jason Hager (Patricia) of Mt. Mourne; her sister, Nancy H. Covington (Jimmy) of Mooresville; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
