Shirley Lanning

Shirley Leigh Culler Lanning, 49, of Wilson Road, Linwood died Monday, August 06, 2007, at her home after a serious illness of 3 months. A Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Freedom Baptist Church where she was a member conducted by Rev. Clyde Akers and burial to follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home. She was born September 15, 1957 in Pittsyvania County, Virginia to Sam T. Leigh and Margie Matthews Leigh. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Nelson Tune and a sister, Nancy Ann Leigh. Surviving are her husband, Jesse Gray Lanning of the home. One daughter, Shaila Lanning Wood and husband Jeff of Lexington. One brother, Sam T. Leigh and his wife Rose of Colville Washington. One sister, Mary Brashear and her husband Doug of Touchet Washington. Also surviving are three grandsons, Josh, Ashley and Jeffrey and her special dog Puddin.
