Shirley Ann Cole Mayerle, 74, of Lake Drive #9, passed away, Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her home, following an 11 month illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home.
Mrs. Mayerle was born June 14, 1937, in Johnson County, TN., to Andrew Griffin and Susan Griffin. She was a retired bank teller from Lexington State Bank. Mrs. Mayerle was a member of Lexington Church of Christ, Square-N-Aders, and the Red Hatters. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Barry Cole.
Surviving are her loving husband, Fred “Bud” Christ Mayerle III of the home; daughter, Tammy Smith of Raleigh; step son, David Mayerle and friend, Regina, of Tyro; stepdaughters, Linda Miller and husband, Daniel, and Amy Finney, both of Lexington; five grandchildren, Erin Smith of Raleigh, Lauren Dobbins and husband, Tyler, of Charlotte, Gray Miller, Zachary Finney and Matthew Finney, all of Lexington; two great-grandchildren; and brother, James Griffin and wife, Margie, of Ohio.
