Shirley Ann Bishop Owen

Shirley Ann Bishop Owen, 78, of Carolina House, formerly of the Midway community, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home of her son on Odell Owen Road. Mrs. Owen was born December 3, 1934, in Davidson County, to Ludie Lee Bishop and Sunnie Dill Bishop. She was a secretary for North Carolina Baptist Hospital serving in church and community relations. Mrs. Owen was active in the Midway Fire Department Auxiliary; a volunteer with the Carolinas Aviation Museum; and an avid cook known for her excellent desserts. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving are her loving husband, Foy Henderson Owen; son, Brad Owen and wife Laura of Lexington; daughter, Judy Owen-O’Dowd and husband Michael of Youngsville; the joy of her life were her three grandchildren, Jessica Owen Jackson, Rachael Owen, and Blair Trexler and great-grandchildren, Rance Jackson and Rylan Jackson.
