Shirley Stafford King

Shirley Stafford King, age 61 passed away early Wednesday morning June 6, 2012 at Grace Health Care. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery in Walkertown with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Shirley was born in Forsyth County on August 16, 1950 to Woodrow and Edith Shown Stafford. She was a cook for the American Children’s Home. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bobby Frank King and a sister, Nancy Irene Carter. Surviving are a brother, David Woodrow Stafford and wife Judy Ann of Winston-Salem; four sisters, Rebecca Jane Burgess of Advance, Carolyn Elizabeth Cross of Southmont, Inez Edith Stafford George and husband Buddy of Asheboro and Rachel Ann Davis of Winston-Salem. Memorials may be made to American Children’s Home, P. O. Box 1288, Lexington, NC 27293. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
