Shirley Ann Crouse Walser, 81, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Craig Seaford officiating. The family will see friends following the service in the Cemetery, and other times at the home.
Mrs. Walser was born in Davidson County on August 26, 1940, to Glenn Garner Crouse and Stella EvaBell Heathcock Crouse. She was retired from Paul Briggs Architect, having been the office manager, and was a member of Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Walser was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her passions were crossword puzzles, quilting and sewing, playing solitaire, and cooking and canning, but her grandchildren always had her heart. She was such a loving mother, sister, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John L. “Rabbit” Walser, Jr.; two brothers, Jesse Crouse, and Garner Crouse; a sister, Marie Hedrick; and a beloved granddaughter, Macy Barnes.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Vonda Barnes (Robin), Lisa Shoaf (Bryan); two sisters, Betty Asbury, and Phyllis Crouse; seven grandchildren, Jared Humphrey (Heather), Adam Humphrey, Julie Tonn (Tony), Elliott Barnes, Kylie Barnes, Sara Shoaf, and John Shoaf; four great-grandchildren, Kirsten Humphrey, Jared “LJ” Humphrey, Jr., Braxton Tonn, and Jettson Tonn; and a host of extended family whom she loved dearly.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
