Shirley K. Younts Wampler, 64, of Hargrave Street, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by Bishop Dennis Watts. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Salisbury National Cemetery.
Mrs. Wampler was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Davidson County to Jefferson Odell Younts and Elva S. Berrier Younts. She was a nurse's aid with Fairway Home Health and a member of Common Ground Outreach Ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Tanner Lamb.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne A. Wampler of the home; two sons, Allen Lamb and his wife, Wendy, of Lexington and Jeremy Wampler and wife, Keysha, of Greensboro; a daughter, Kim Settle and her husband, Roffice "Skibo" Settle of Lexington; five grandchildren, Steven Tucker, Jeremy Wampler, Trajon Wampler, Mercedes Wampler and Justin Lamb; a stepgrandson, C.J. Williams; a sister, Sheila Spainhour and her husband, Bill, of Lexington; a sister-in-law, Patricia Potts of Rockwell; and a special friend, Diana Billings of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Allen Lamb, 506 Canary Drive.
