Silba Rae Aaron Fennell, 97, of Lexington passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Trellis Supportive Care, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell, III and the Rev. Christa Warise officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service at the Church.
Mrs. Fennell was born in Davidson County on December 21, 1924, to Conrad Koonts Aaron and Maggie Davis Aaron. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington for 48 years and was in the Church Choir as well as the handbell Choir. Mrs. Fennell received various awards for her volunteer work, including one prestigious award from the Governor and was a founding member of the Lexington Choral Society. She directed the Davidson County Senior Chorus for 34 years and held singing programs at the Life Center for many years. Mrs. Fennell volunteered at Nursing Homes and was a member of the Sunshine Gals, who sang at the World’s Fair in 1982. She was a member of the Davidson County Senior Line Dancers for many years, and was a loving mother, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Lloyd Fennell; a daughter, Janet Kay Macias; and her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Ballenger.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons; one daughter; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
