Snowton Sylvester Hill, Jr.

Snowton Sylvester Hill Jr., 80, of Gray Mill Road, died Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Brian Center of Lexington, following a short illness. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at National Cemetery with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. There will be no public visitation. Mr. Hill was born February 7, 1934, in Pittsylvania County, Va., to Snowton Sylvester Hill Sr. and Myrtle Sally Barnes Hill. He was retired from the United States Postal Service where he had served as a distribution clerk and had proudly served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Helen Turner Hill who died in 1994. Surviving is his stepdaughter Betty Buchanan of Lexington; step-grandsons, Calvin Buchanan and Jennifer, Donald Buchanan, all of Lexington, and Ronald Buchanan and wife Robin of Winston-Salem.
