Sonny Covington, Jr.

Lewis Edward “Sonny” Covington, Jr., age 54 of Bethesda Road, Lexington passed away Sunday (September 19, 2010) at his home.  A time of remembrance will be held 4:00 pm Thursday (September 23, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel.   The family will greet friends as they exit the chapel and at other times at the home of daughter, Tara Pope 1532 Rhodes Road, Lexington, NC.   Sonny was born in Richland County, South Carolina, July 28, 1956 to Lewis Edward Covington, Sr. and Evelyn Holmes Covington.  He was a former truck driver with Epes Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents.   Surviving are: two daughters, Tara Pope and husband Jeremy and Christy Covington all of Lexington; one grandson Dylan Pope; two sisters, Crystal Brown and Angie Byerly both of Lexington.   Memorials may be made to the family, c/o Tara Pope, 1532 Rhodes Road, Lexington, NC 27292, to honor his final wishes.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
