Speedy Thompson, 52, of Sidney Street, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Lexington Health Care after declining health for several years.
A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Kay Fry.
Mr. Thompson was born March 17, 1956, in Davidson County, the loving son of Richard Lee Hedrick and Martha Gregg Hedrick. He was educated in Lexington City Schools, loved baseball and Nascar racing. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a carpenter for Built Rite Construction. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Thompson and Kenny Hedrick.
Surviving are his mother of the home; a brother, Rickey Hedrick and wife, Joyce, of Lexington; two sisters, Gail Hill and husband, Tom, of Lexington, and Cathy Bowman and husband, Nathan, of Welcome; special niece and nephew, Erin and Thomas Hill; and loving cousin, LuAnn Michael.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.
