Spurgil Lee Jones

Spurgil Lee Jones, age 67 of Wayne Gobble Road, Linwood passed away Sunday night February 21, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday February 27, 2016 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry smith officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service. Spurgil was born in Rowan County August 3, 1948 to Kyle Sparger Jones, Sr. and Exie Holshouser Jones. He was a retired employee of Parkdale Mills and a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Vicki Lynn Jones and a sister Ethel Dennis Ivey. Surviving are his companion, Heather Wiles of Linwood; sons, Jimmy Lee Jones (Michelle) of Greensboro and Jerry Lee Jones (Cindy) of Lexington and Charlie Hepler (Teresa) of Lexington; 3 grandchildren, Dalton, Jordan and Paige; sisters, Edith Marie Myers of Denton and Vanessa Mitchell (Marshall) of Churchland; brothers, Kyle Sparger Jones, Jr. (Lois) of Linwood and Jimmy Odell Jones (Bonnie) of Churchland.
