Stanley Carter Darrow

Stanley Carter Darrow, 87, of Lexington, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Darrow was born October 30, 1934, in Auburn, New York, to Gordon Darrow Sr. and Clara Carter Darrow. He served in the US Marines and the Naval Reserve for several years, and later retired from PPG. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon Darrow Jr., Gerald Keith Darrow, and Bruce Allen Darrow; and one sister, Eleanor Alnutt. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Mike Darrow (Amy) of Clemmons, and Tim Darrow of Ohio; one daughter, Laurie Hokanson (Kris) of Lexington; one sister in-law, Nancy Darrow of Florida; six grandchildren, Ryan Hokanson (Whitney), Jenna Hokanson (Brian), Joshua Darrow (Laura), Brandon Darrow (Kacie), Taylor (Zachary), and Brittany (Mark); and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to donor’s choice.
