Stella Marie Dryman Harrison

Stella Marie Dryman Harrison of Franklin NC died peacefully February 5, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side.  Marie was born in Macon County, but at an early age her family moved to Lexington, NC where she lived much of her life.  Later in life she and her deceased husband Wilbur Franklin Harrison moved to western NC to be close to her daughter and beloved grandson.

A private family celebration of Marie’s life will take place at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, North Carolina on  Wednesday,  February 14, 2024, and the burial will be at the National Cemetery in Salisbury NC on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Marie was born in Macon County, Franklin North Carolina July 30,1934 to John L. and Essie C. Henry Dryman.  She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two sisters, Nellie Dryman Allen, Hazel Hopkins and one brother Claude Dryman and one stepbrother Bill “Brownie” Allen. Two nephews Johnny Allen and Jerry Allen of Lexington.

Surviving are her daughter Patricia A. Hedrick and beloved grandson Jason Brent Hedrick of Franklin, NC.  Two nieces Shannon Jewel James and Betty Swicegood of Lexington, NC.  Great nieces Jodie Harrell, Summer Canovai, and Great nephews Jonathan Allen and Chris Elliott.

Marie was of the Baptist Faith. She worked as a textile worker at Burlington Mills in Lexington most of her life and later was employed at Indiana Molding in Lexington.  She was known for the delicious candy, especially her pecan clusters and coconut balls she loved to make and give to those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Four Seasons Care Hospice Western NC or Macon County Special Olympics North Carolina.
