Stella Mae Clodfelter McCarthy, 75, passed away Friday, April 14, 2006, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
She was born July 31, 1930, to Ralph and Veigh Clodfelter. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church for 40 years. She was also active in her ladies Sunday school class. She was retired from Forsyth Medical Center cafeteria. She had been in declining health for about six months. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph T Clodfelter Jr.
Surviving are her children, sons Michael McCarthy of Winston-Salem and Edward McCarthy of Lexington; daughter Veigh Jarvis and husband Keith of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren Sunshine Young, Michael McCarthy II, Erica Wolfe, Keisha Lambeth, Jessica Meggison and Keith Jarvis. She had four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, at New Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Byrne, the Rev. Charles Penley and Warren Kerr officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at Davidson Funeral Home - Hickory Tree Chapel.
