Stella Jo Staton

Stella Jo Treadway Staton, 85, of Lexington, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Dr. Avery Varnadore officiating. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Lexington City Cemetery.

Stella was born on February 17, 1939 in Madison County, NC to the late Walter Treadway Sr. and Nina Treadway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Thomas “Tommy” Staton.

Stella spent her career as an accountant for Lexington Memorial Hospital for over 40 years before retiring. She was very creative and talented in many crafts. She had a passion for sewing, cross stitch, and basket-weaving. She also had a love for gardening and had a particular fondness for roses.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Keith Staton; daughter, Lisa (John) Williams; grandchildren, Matthew Williams and Casey (Alan) Skeen; brothers, Butch (Glenda) Treadway and Steve (Brenda) Treadway; sister-in-law, Debbie Sink, and numerous other extended family members.
