Stephanie Garner Reid

Stephanie Garner Reid, 56, of Dogwood Trail, Kernersville and Pinehurst, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ralph Eanes. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Reid was born Aug. 23, 1950, in Davidson County to Herman S. Garner and Bessie Mae Kepley Garner. She graduated from Lexington Senior High School and Coker College in Hartsville, S.C., where she majored in studio arts. After a stint with the High Point Enterprise, she joined Norling Studios in High Point as art director. While there, she also modeled professionally for several of Norling's furniture and fabric clients. In 1987, she and her husband founded R.L. Reid & Company, Inc., an advertising agency in Greensboro that grew to become one of the area's largest. There she served as executive vice-president until the couple sold the company in 1998. Surviving are her husband, Raymond Reid of the home; two stepdaughters, Allison Reid of Durham and Robin England of Knoxville, Tenn.; two step grandchildren; and dog, Palmer, the Jack Russel Terrier.
