Stephen Dempsey Brady

Stephen Dempsey Brady, 71, of W. Old Hwy 64, Lexington died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist-Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at North Lexington Baptist Church with Rev. Gavin Pratt and Dr. Robert Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter, W. Old Hwy 64. Mr. Brady was born April 22, 1943 in Davidson County to Vernon Dempsey Brady and Irene Wampler Brady. He was retired from Lexington Telephone Company and was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Outreach Ministry. Stephen was a Scout Master for many years for Troup 221 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a US Veteran having served in the Navy and was a member of the Masons 473. Preceding him in death were his parents, a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Patterson, a brother, Randy Brady and a sister, Jane Murphy. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Westervelt Brady of the home; a son, Tim Brady (Rhonda) of TN; two daughters, Kim Walser (Tim), Anna Patterson (Brian) all of Lexington; ten grandchildren, Matthew Leonard, Ryne Elmore (Kenneth), Clay Leonard, Morgan Walser, Collin Walser, Taylor Brady, Stephen Brady, Lucas Patterson, Drew Patterson, Jay Patterson; a great grandchild, Luke “Bossman” Elmore. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to North Lexington Baptist Church, 201 Mize Road, Lexington, NC 27295
